
WSHL Weekend Recap 10.07.19
The first full weekend of WSHL Hockey didn't disappoint with games featuring overtime, comebacks, sweeps and shutouts.

-The Las Vegas Thunderbirds completed a sweep of their two game opening series against the Fresno Monsters winning 5-1 and 5-2.
-Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers swept their three game series versus the Wichita Jr. Thunder besting them 6-1, 9-3, and 6-4.
-Bellingham Blazers took to the road and opened their season defeating the West Sound Admirals in two games by a score of 5-2 and 10-2.
-The Ogden Mustangs swept the visiting Ontario Avalanche as the two teams met for the first time ever. Ogden won on scores of 7-3, 8-0, and 8-0.
-Edson, the top team in the Provincial Division, has met some competition this year having split their series with the Hinton Timberwolves. Edson won 6-3 and Hinton won 5-1 the following night.
-The Utah Outliers saved themselves the sweep and won the final game of a three game swing against the Northern Colorado Eagles. The Eagles won 4-0, 4-3, and Utah won 5-1 on Sunday.
-The relocated Barrhead Bombers swept the Cold Lake Hornets in two games by considerable margins. Bombers won 9-2 and 10-2 against a fatigued Hornets side.
-The back-to-back champions, El Paso Rhinos, started their quest with a narrow sweep of the Dallas Snipers. The Rhinos won 2-1 in the shootout, 2-0 and 4-1 on Sunday.
-The only single game matchup was between the San Diego Sabers and Valencia Flyers who went to overtime. The back and forth battle of attrition was won 5-4 by the visiting Valencia Flyers.
